1. Set clear expectations and consequences
   Teachers may set explicit behavioral expectations in two ways: by providing clear rules and procedures, and by implementing consequences for student conduct.

   Relationships are at their best when both sides demonstrate mutual respect, appreciation, trust, consideration, and understanding.
   
3. Flexible Learning Objectives
   Giving students the option to create their own objectives at the start of a course or asking them what they want to learn promotes cooperation.

   As educators, our students look to us as role models.  When it comes to our classroom policies, it is important that we “walk the talk.”

   Teachers must provide dynamic, relevant, student-centered, and engaging instructional content to their students. This material must be planned thoughtfully and consistently. They should provide assignments or activities that will help students get back on track or reduce disengagement.
